Snowboarding and a sidenote of knitting

So my knitting blog is turning into my photo blog of kid misc. "stuff" aw what the hell, big damn dirty deal. Knitting details follow below....

Chloe has been hitting the slopes every Sunday for the month of January. She has taken up this new-found love for snowboarding (aka: Daddy and daughter bonding). So I have to share. See above.

Now for my comments on all that freaks a Mom out!

Okay and thank the holy stars of the universe that I wasn't around when my first born child in the care of her father whom I trust (when I'm not there and have to) was raised up in the metal contraption of the "lift" above those crazed bastards flying high on peppermint shnapps and who knows what "else" okay I'll say it "ELSE". Whoa! don't I sound all grown up and maternal now on my holy horse.

Off to ride that horse into the distance...hang on...! So, we were talking about my first born on a lift HIGH above the slopes while I'm sure her father waits all beaming proud below capturing it all on video tape. Uh huh! He's gonna get the lecture of his life :) I love you BTW Edward :). Were those enough smilies to keep a marriage alive?

On to things that make me less frightened of the world and my children in it.
Knitting: On the needles right this instant are a pair of incredibly cute (or so *I* invision them to be) soaker (ok) sweater pants (with ruffles). They will be off the needles tonight and ready to sew together by noon.

Self imposed restriction

I haven't picked up my sticks to knit anything for days. I have myself on restriction until my house gets in order. It is actually motivating me to clean. I am aiming for Monday to be able to knit again. I figure I'll have caught up on the mess by then.

Nice mind games I play huh?

But...!! It has worked so well. I have my office all decluttered and shined up, 4 closets in order, a junk drawer decluttered and I'm going to tackle the kitchen later today.

It is back breaking work this whole "keeping your house tidy thing" and I don't know how well I'll be keeping it up.

In other news I've joined an "Adventure Group" and various camping groups to get some information on exploring the great NW. Edward mentioned to me that the adventure group might just be an undercover singles group. Geez, I hope not that would be uncomfortable tomorrow night at the first meeting. I'm thinking of joining this group too, it looks exactly what I'm looking for.

Escape much?

I do. I have found myself lately (as I often do around this time of year) escaping into my crafts and creativity. It is almost tortuous. I stay up until 3am sometimes with such intensity and focus it isn't healthy, but it is what I sometimes need. Can I play my "mom of 3 card now?" Okay, thanks I will....here it goes...

Sometimes I just need something that I can have be quiet and not demanding my input 24/7. Sometimes I just need the illusion that I can still live in a semi-adult world with adult passion.
Sometimes I just need solitude.
Sometimes...well you have the idea now I just need to get my knit or glue or creativity on YO!

Wow how cathartic that is to just put it all out there like that. Am I gettin' my blog on or what? I hate that stupid word: Blog.

Oh yes I had a point, it is always buried in there somewhere. Last night I made 50 heavenly scented (of lavendar and orange) bean bags to sell at my dd's waldorf school and 8 tic-tac-toe felt travel pouches. I was so intensly busy with the creation I forgot to take pictures. Next time, next time...

Do I know any Giants??...Linebackers??

I suppose we all come to the time when we just have to admit it is TOO big, I mean WAY to big. I am stubborn and determined and I just kept knitting this bad boy in total denial. Funny how that works with denial. So when I finally came to the realization that it wasn't ever going to be a hat unless I knew a giant, a linebacker, or a grown adult with the proportions of those hideous Brat dolls...it just wasn't going to be a hat. So I went to rip it all out...but, the stubborn voice of reason in me says well what else could it be? A tube top! Please have I seen my boobs lately...we won't go there. What about an incredibly stylish tank with spaghetti straps for my 7 yr old. Yeah right! Like anyone wants to wear wool in the summer, especially *my* 7 yr old. I rip it...rip it good and it was good I felt so free as I unraveled (are we still talking about the yarn?). So here it is back to it's original (well the way I bought it) form. Sitting on my desk are two dainty little wooly balls... okay okay...or a new improved smaller hat.

I'm obsessed

Lately, I am a crafting, knitting, feind.

The two pics are of a hat for S...my first work w/2 colors. And the adorable butt sweater (aka: knitted soaker).

I'm working on a pair of longies (sweater pants) for my 1 yr old that will be done hopefully before it gets too darn cold. I'm following this pattern, but I'm going to crochet a ruffle on the anke cuffs instead of ribbing.

I made some stitch markers to sell at school. Oops, forgot to get a picture of those guys.

I'll post pics and more lame comments, bear with me ;)
